Badfinger concerts
1979-1980
compiled by Tom Brennan
with assistance from Dan Matovina

Badfinger released their comeback album "Airwaves" in 1979 following the loss of Pete Ham in 1975. During the period 1976-1978, Joey Molland recorded & toured with Natural Gas and Tom Evans & Bob Jackson recorded & toured with The Dodgers. Mike Gibbins toured with "Man" bassist Martin Ace's band "The Flying Aces" and played on sessions for people like Bonnie Tyler and Digby Richards.

Tom & Joey recruited former Yes keyboardist Tony Kaye and former Escorts drummer Peter Clarke to promote the album "Airwaves". Most of the 1979 shows were very well received by both fans and critics. The June 14 performance in Dallas was rated as one of the best concerts of the year.

The Roxy Theatre operated from 1938 until November 1980. The Roxy was around until at least 1982. During its last days it was no longer a movie house and being used for bands. The venue was converted to a 629-seater for concerts, which were booked by local promoter Marc Berman from summer 1978 until August 1979. It was demolished to make room for a new post office which opened in 1984.
