Dark Horse Records logo (small)

About the Dark Horse Records logo: The Uchchaihshravas, a seven-headed flying horse common in Hindu mythology, was created during the churning of the milk ocean. He is considered the king of all horses.
Uchchaihshravas is snow white in color, but for the Dark Horse logo, he was made black. The Dark Horse is the little known contender in a contest or race that is unlikely to succeed but makes an unexpectedly good showing or finish.
